A residential property was reportedly targeted with a petrol bomb in Kirkintilloch this morning.
It is understood an address in Friar's Croft, Kirkintilloch, was targeted in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 6am to reports of a fire.
One resident described hearing loud noises shortly before emergency services arrived.
The road remains cordoned off.
A spokeperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "At approximately 05.52am on Sunday, 4 June, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a property in Friar's Croft, Kirkintilloch."
"Four appliances were in attendance."
Police Scotland were contacted for comment.
A spokeperson said information would be made available later in the evening.
