Murdo Fraser MSP was spouting the usual Tory misinformation and double standards in his response to your report on the Reid Foundation policy paper criticising the Tory legislation which requires that 40 per cent of workers eligible to vote must vote in favour for strike action for it to be lawful, which includes counting those not voting as against (Demands grow to scrap Tory anti-strike laws, News, June 18).

He said this was reasonable. If this principle was to be applied to a general election then the majority of MPs, including Tory MPs, would not have been elected.
