A MAN has died while swimming in the the water at Loch Lomond.
Emergency services were called to the area about three miles away from the village of Luss at around 1.50pm today.
Police, ambulance crews rushed to the scene with a helicopter drafted into help with the search.
However, despite their efforts, the body of a 20-year-old was recovered.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed: "Police can confirm that the body of a young man aged 20 was recovered after being found in the waters at Loch Lomond around 3.35pm.
“Officers have been stood down at the scene.”
Police Scotland said the death is not being treated as suspicious, with a report being submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance service added: “Police called the Scottish Ambulance Service around 1.37pm to attend an incident at Luss near Loch Lomond.
“We dispatched one paramedic, one ambulance, one trauma team, a special operations team and a medical helicopter to assist.”
