LIKE Ian Hutchison (Letters, August 15) I also use subtitles occasionally when watching late-night weather forecasts on TV.

However, I often find them amusing rather than annoying thanks to the writer's sometimes bizarre interpretation of what the forecaster is actually saying.

I still have a smile on my face after reading that BBC's Christopher Blanchett had warned the nation to expect "Apache frost" last year.

Wasn't even an Indian summer at the time.
