A SCHOOL bus has collided with a car during rush hour traffic in Dumbarton.

Emergency services rushed to the scene before 9am after the road crash on Renton Road.

The male driver of the car was initially trapped following the crash but he was later freed and rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His condition is unknown.

The bus passengers are being checked at the scene where Police Scotland officers remain.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "It was around 8.40am this morning, policereceived a report of a road crash involving a school bus and a car in Renton Road, Dumbarton."

Renton Road is currently closed.
