Police rushed to a busy Glasgow City Centre car park in the early hours of this morning after the body of a man was discovered.

Officers attended the scene at the NCP Mitchell Street Car Park just off Mitchell Lane before 2am.

It is understood police are still at the scene amid reports a blue tent has been erected.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At around 1.55am on Thursday, September 7, the body of a man was discovered within the car park in Mitchell Street, Glasgow.

“Enquiries are currently ongoing to confirm the identity of the man.

“A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the cause of death, however, police do not believe it to be suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
