RYAN JACK insists there are no hard feelings towards Partick Thistle counterpart Ryan Edwards after his Firhill injury scare.

The midfielder was on the end of a robust challenge from Edwards during Friday’s Premiership clash and required treatment on the park.

The tackle infuriated the travelling Gers support but referee Willie Collum chose not to take any action against Edwards.

Jack was later replaced by Carlos Pena as Pedro Caixinha’s side dropped another two crucial points in the top flight.

But the 26-year-old won’t hold a grudge over the incident ahead of Rangers’ return to Firhill on Betfred Cup duty tonight.

Jack said: “No [that’s not why I came off], not really. It was a bit of everything.

“We had just conceded the goal and there was a little effect on my ankle, it had swollen up a bit and maybe I wasn’t moving the same.

“As a player, you never want to come off, you never want to hold your hand up and say ‘I am finished’. I wanted to carry on. The manager thought tactically he wanted to change it and get Carlos on.

“I think every tackle you could say is potentially dangerous. I spoke to Ryan Edwards after the game and he said there was no intent or malice to try and hurt me. He shook my hand and I said that is fair enough, I appreciate that.

“He caught me so high up my leg, so there is every chance it could have been a bad one. I think I jarred my ankle with the effects of it.

“At the time, you think it could be a bad one and when I pulled my sock down the swelling and bruising was there straight away. I said I wanted to carry on and thankfully I am OK.”
