RANGERS defender Fabio Cardoso didn't receive much sympathy after tweeting a picture of his stitched-up face following Tuesday's win over Partick Thistle.

The Portuguese said he need four stitches on his chin after an extra-time win over the Jags secured a Betfred Cup semi-final spot for Pedro Caixinha's side.

Rangers are facing something of a defensive crisis ahead of Saturday's meeting with Celtic at Ibrox, with captain Lee Wallace ruled out and doubts over the fitness of Bruno Alves and Declan John.

Cardoso praised Gers youngster Ross McCrorie's 'amazing debut' after the youngster stepped off the bench at Firhill.

However, the centre-back wasn't given much sympathy by his own fans after posting the picture of his cut chin.
