Smart move for welling company
Well Centric, a specialist operating in the well integrity and production technology sectors, has announced Gary Smart as its new chief executive.
Mr Smart brings 30 years’ oil and gas industry experience and a track record in technology development, commercialisation and global market expansion to the role. He has held a variety of management positions throughout his career, spending 11 years at Weatherford before joining Tendeka in 2009, where he spent six years as chief executive.
As part of FrontRow Energy Technology Group, Well-Centric aims to improve long-term performance of mature wells through the provision of technology solutions.
Chief executive Stuart Ferguson said: “FrontRow is committed to developing new technologies which bring substantial cost reductions to the industry. Well-Centric is achieving that by developing solutions which combat a wide range of issues.”
Law firm promotions for 11 staff
Anderson Strathern has named two new partners its rural and real estate practices, while the law firm also made a number of internal promotions across its commercial, private client and public sector teams.
Fiona McKinnon moves up to partner level in the firm’s commercial real estate practice and is a specialist in retail, development and investment work.
Robin Beattie becomes a partner in the firm’s rural land and business team.
Of the nine internal solicitor promotions made by Anderson Strathern two are new senior associates Ann-Marie Chalmers and Lesley Fitzgerald.
Murray McCall, who was recently reappointed as the firm’s managing partner, said: “After investing in our people, mergers, technology and lateral hires last year, we’re continuing to invest in our team through internal promotions and more lateral hires in 2017 and it’s encouraging to see the growth coming through."
Esh Border Construction builds for future
THE expansion plans of Esh Border Construction have been boosted by the announcement of two new senior appointments to its Scottish operation.
Paul Devine has been named construction director and Paul Curran commercial manager at the Livingston-based business, as it continues to target fresh growth.
Mr Devine brings 20 years of construction industry experience from two decade-long managerial roles in the Central Belt, while Mr Curran has held a number of similar roles with UK companies across the past 30 years.
They join a senior team that was recently boosted by the internal appointment of regional director for Scotland, Gerard McMahon.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
