Loop and Scoop has opened its kitchen doors to reveal the secret behind their incredible churros.

The new eatery, located in Glasgow's west end, is the UK's first churro and ice cream bar has opened to roaring sucess.

Glasgow entrepreneur Calvin Kayes dreamt up the concept with help from wife Serena, and together they devised a haven for those with a sweet tooth.

Glasgow Times:

Passionate Calvin, who has a background in catering, has overseen every detail of it's birth from the bar's colour scheme, to the viewer windows looking into the kitchen to the creation of unique equipment used to produce fresh churros on-site.

Opening the doors to his kitchen, Calvin took the Evening Times in to show how he makes his fresh churros and ice cream.

He said: "I wanted to create a place where people come to enjoy the food, enjoy company and bring family. We even allow dogs.

"Nowhere else in Glasgow makes churros on-site or ice-cream on site like we do. We make fresh batches, served fresh and made to order."

"This has been a dream in the making for a long time and I want to share my passion with other people and create a space for them to relax."

He said "All our churro-making equipment is custom made, and you need to get the process just right. It took a long time to develop the menu, and we've included flavours and designs suited to everyone's tastes."

Akin with Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory, kids can peer into the kitchen viewer windows to watch churros and ice cream being created and decorated by staff.

Customers can choose from 12 luxury ice cream flavours, made on site in single batches.

Glasgow Times:

Calvin tries and tastes all his ice cream choices and hopes to create themed variations in the run up to Halloween and Christmas.

The eatery also has a breakfast and lunch menu available.
