PUPILS from Breadalbane Academy in Aberfeldy, Perthshire, got the chance to see one of Scotland’s most popular paintings as it continues its nationwide tour.

The Monarch of the Glen was saved for the nation earlier this year when the National Galleries of Scotland raised the £4 million needed to buy the Sir Edward Landseer work from Diageo.

It has been touring sites round the country and was taken to the Perthshire school, where Emma Bavey, 14, was one of the pupils able to cast her eye over the historic painting.
