JASON HOLT admits the Ibrox squad must accept their share of the blame for Rangers’ poor Premiership position.

Interim boss Graeme Murty saw his side crash to a 2-0 defeat to Hamilton last weekend as the Gers missed the chance to climb above Hibernian and Aberdeen in the standings.

And midfielder Holt knows Rangers haven’t been good enough overall once again this term as attentions turn to the trip to Dundee.

He said: “Of course [the players need to accept responsibility]. At the end of the day we are the people who cross that white line and go onto the park.

“As players, we take responsibility. I have said before, the fact we are even talking about winning two and three games is unacceptable at this club.

“I don’t think it is mental strength, but I think there has been a few games where we haven’t gone in with the lead at half-time and when we have come out for the second half it has been a bit laboured.

“Again, that is not acceptable either. We should be gunning for them and trying to get the goal we never got in the first half.

“Like I said, it is really disappointing. But we do analysis and we cover it. We need to look to [tonight’s] game now and try to put it right.”

The defeat to Accies was the latest in a string of disappointing results on home soil for Rangers this term.

The Light Blues have won just two of their seven league games at Ibrox but Holt reckons it is difficult to find the cause of the problem.

He said: “It is hard to pinpoint one thing. There are certainly a few factors.

“But winning two out of seven at home is not acceptable. We certainly have to get a lot better at home.

“No, I don’t think [we find it tough playing at Ibrox]. You are aware when you come to this club of the pressures there are on you.

“The players are here because they can handle that pressure. It is down to us as players. In the home games it has not been good enough.”
