A SCOTTISH teenager has died after falling seven floors from a balcony in the Spanish resort Magaluf has been named.

It is understood that Natalie Cormack, 19, from West Kilbride, North Ayrshire, lost her grip while trying to climb on to the balcony of her apartment from another flat.

The 19-year-old had returned to her apartment from her job working in a bar in the Spanish resort but had lost her keys and went to a friend’s flat to try to climb over when tragedy struck.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at the Eden Rock de Torrenova apartment block but were unable to save her life.

A Civil Guard officer at the regional headquarters in Palma, the holiday island’s capital, said: ”We are still investigating. But it seems she did not have any keys when she arrived at her apartment and went to a friend’s flat.

"She was climbing to her own balcony when she fell from the seventh floor. We understand that she comes from Scotland and was working in a nearby bar. But we don’t have any more details yet.”

Her heartbroken mum Lynn said: "I am sorry to do things this way but have to let everyone know that Natálie has fallen from a balcony in Magaluf and has died. At the moment this is all we know."

Friends also paid tribute to the teenager on social media.

One girl said: "I can't stop thinking about you, you were the best friend anybody could ask for. I love you crazy girl Natálie Cormack. May you rest in peace."
