Plenty of people will take to dating apps looking for love or lust this Valentine's Day - and this year they will not be the only ones.
A new matchmaking app pairing up farm animals is also set to launch on February 14, offering breeders the chance to 'swipe right' for the perfect partners for their cattle (no bull).
The Tudder app works in the same way as Tinder, allowing farmers to use their smartphones to look at the profiles of cows and bulls from 43,000 farms across the UK.
And while the app - created by the SellMyLivestock website - might appear to be a bit (ox) tongue in cheek, the launch is part of a push to reinvent the way farmers trade and breed animals.
Jamie McInnes, co-founder and chief technology officer of SellMyLivestock, said: "Finding the right match can be daunting for us humans, let alone if you’re a four legged farm animal.
"Traditionally, playing moo-pid for cows would require proper grafting: visiting each herd of hopefuls at different farms, or at an auction market, all the while running the risk that the best cow on the market has simply slipped past you.
"And while this is a bit of fun on Valentine’s Day, it highlights how relevant online matchmaking is for farmers looking for breeding livestock.
"Buying breeding cattle is now enabled by a huge amount of genetic data to create the perfect match. This is the equivalent of a human online dating profile, except it is validated in science rather than a self proclaimed GSOH (good sense of humour)."
Traditional livestock trading can be very labour intensive, with farmers travelling long distances to sell their products at market.
But there us often no guaranteed buyer and a lack of transparency when it comes to pricing.
SellMyLivestock believe online trading could help to transform cattle farming and make it a lot easier for breeders to buy and sell animals.
To use the Tudder app, farmers will first have to indicate if they are looking for a cow or a bull before scrolling through profiles and swipe right for yes - with mooing sound as they do - or swipe left for no.
Once a match has been made, farmers will be redirected to the SellMyLivestock website where they can browse photographs and learn more about the breeding stock listed.
If they are interested in the livestock featured, they can then contact the owners to agree a price.
Tudder is available to download via the app store on both Apple and Android.
