Ian Blackford has hit back at Theresa May holding up a picture of the SNP whitepaper "Scotland's Future" after the PM accused the SNP of wanting to leave the EU without a plan through independence.

Speaking at PMQs she accused the SNP of voting to leave the EU without a plan if they had won the 2014 independence referendum, causing much anger on the SNP benches.

Mr Blackford hit back at the PM towards the end of the session, however, brandishing a copy of the SNP's White Paper that outlined their plan for leaving the Union.

The SNP Westminster leader accused the Prime Minister of "inadvertently" misleading the House.

He said: "When she said there was no plan for Scottish independence, unlike the Brexit campaign, which is no more than a slogan on the bus, we had a plan"

He was then interrupted by the Speaker of the House as he held his document up to the Opposition, with the Speaker saying: "He has made his point with force and alacrity which requires no reply."

Douglass Ross then stood in the Commons to place on record that the document contained "many errors and omissions"
