The atmosphere of Bonnie Badger is perhaps the epitome of romance.
HeraldScotland's Joanna Blythman said: "The bricks and mortar work here has been radical, not least the rediscovery of the towering raftered loft space in what was once the stables, now the new dining room, with its honey-coloured original sandstone walls restored and brought back to life, the whole space warmed by a crackling open fire."

As if the atmospheric lighting and perfectly placed greenery weren't enough, the Botany Bar and Restaurant are offering a three-course meal this Valentine's Day, with a twist. Gone are the traditional Starter, Main and Dessert, and in their place is Teaser, Satisfy and Indulge.

Edinburgh’s first gourmet steak restaurant, Kyloe Restaurant and Grill, is the perfect spot for couples after a traditional steak dinner this year. The name Kyloe, an old Scots word for Highland beef cattle, was chosen for the restaurant as it represents the strength and versatility of Scottish beef produce. Here's hoping it represents the same of relationships.

In the heart of Glasgow's vibrant city centre, Hutcheson's is the perfect destination for some light chat and food. But it is the atmosphere that really creates the romance.
Joanna Blythman said: "It’s got the lot – three floors of soaring Georgian proportions, architectural detailing and style – yet nothing fuddy-duddy. The lay-out in the main dining room is simple, zoned into more intimate areas using long banquettes topped with brass rails and orb-shaped lamps."
6. Glenisle Hotel and Bistro, Lamlash

If you can make the ferry trip, the Isle of Arran's Glenisle Hotel is a must. Winner of Romantic Hotel of the Year 2018 in the Scottish Hospitality Awards, it certainly lives up to its title, with views of the stunning Lamlash Bay visible from the restaurant floor.
