Man appears in court over murder of Brian McKandie
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a missing pensioner.
Steven Sidebottom, 23, of Inverurie, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in connection with the death of 67-year-old Brian McKandie, who was found dead at his Rothienorman home on Saturday March 12 2016.
He was charged with murder, robbery and sexual offences.
Sidebottom was also charged with the theft of a motor vehicle, wilful fire raising and three other charges of theft.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
