A London man has been charged in connection with the recovery of £150,000 worth of drugs in Aberdeen.

The drugs, crack cocaine with a street value of more than £125,000 and heroin with a value in excess of £25,000, were seized in the city centre area on Monday.

It is the largest recovery of crack cocaine in Scotland so far this year, police said.

The man, 31, is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Walker said: "Tackling drugs in our communities is a priority for North East Division and we will continue to make the region a hostile environment for such activity.

"We rely on information from members of the public to do this and would continue to appeal to you to contact us with any concerns on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous."
