A teenager has been charged following a collision involving an eight-year-old boy and a moped in Aberdeen.

The incident happened in Cornhill Terrace at around 4.30pm on Sunday.

The boy was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment for facial injuries.

Police Scotland said a 19-year-old man had been charged following the incident.

Inspector Mark Stephen said: "We would like to thank members of the public who have called police with information and the community for patience while inquiries were carried out."

The man is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
