An auction house worker admires a John Bellany painting which is among lots by the East Lothian artist set to be sold off next week.

Oil painting Natures Harvest, which was created by Bellany in 1972, is being sold with an estimate of between £15,000 and £25,000.

It is among a number of paintings by the artist, who died in 2013, that are being sold off by Sotheby’s in London at a modern and post-war sale on Tuesday and Wednesday. Another Bellany portrait, entitled Virginia Black, from 1989, is set to be sold for between £3,000 to £5,000.
