IT'S not just coastal towns which suffer from the gull menace ("Beat gull menace… put them on Pill", The Herald, April 21).

In Kilmarnock the council has invested to enhance the town's Kay Park. However, it is infested with gulls, which vastly outnumber the ducks, swans and moorhens.

They scavenge the bins on a regular basis, leaving the park strewn with litter.

It's surely time to cull these herring gulls, none of them being likely to have seen the sea let alone tasted a herring.
