YOU seem to decry the NHS sending X-Rays, CT and MRI scans “as far afield as India and Australia” to be interpreted by radiologists.

Whilst it is right and proper to hold the NHS to account regarding value for money, surely a more positive way of reporting this is that the digital age allows scans to be read 24/7 in real time.

No more waiting for someone to come on duty, or back from holiday, or even (as does happen to healthcare staff) back from sick leave.

Instead, consultants can get results immediately. This is the power of linking the world’s experts and many patients may be grateful for this, rather than disappointed.
