KENNY Dalglish must be unique amongst honourees (“He was once king of the football field, now Dalglish is knight of the realm”, The Herald, June 9). Has anyone else ever been nominally “demoted” by dint of receiving a gong in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list? He is more than worthy of honouring, particularly in respect of his tireless work in support of the victims and their families in the aftermath of the Hillsborough disaster – he will always be King Kenny to them.
