I’M looking forward to a trip to Dundee shortly and visiting the new V & A, which I’m sure will be a wonderful experience.

I’m a little bit mystified however as to why the Charles Rennie Mackintosh tearoom interior, part of the Glasgow Museums collection has been in storage for 50 years and why I have to travel to Dundee to see it (“Five key exhibits not to miss on any visit to Scotland’s cathedral of design”, The Herald, September 13). Mind you, given recent events maybe it’s safer in Dundee.

DUNDEE is indeed to be congratulated in bringing the new V&A to fruition in just 13 years. Up here in Laurencekirk we have been waiting for a flyover at the notorious A90/A937 junction (scene of many fatalities and daily delays) for more than 30 years and they have still to cut the first sod.

However, congratulations to Dundee, it's gratifying to see what can be done when there is a will.
