I SYMPATHISE with the delivery driver given the run-around by a customer who had not bothered to give instructions to “leave in a safe place” (Letters, November 7). On the other hand, imagine my wife’s surprise to witness from our hall a parcel delivered to our blue bin that was out on the pavement awaiting emptying.

On more than one occasion a parcel has been left on our front doorstep in full view of the road and one between the front of the car and the garage door.

Firms employing drivers should factor more time for delivery.
