IS there anyone else out there, like myself, who abhors seeing highly-paid sports people (managers and players) blatantly spitting during football matches? Is this the norm now and is there no-one in authority able to crack down on such disgusting behaviour? I had to leave the room whilst watching a recent match on television a few days ago as I was having a cup of tea whilst the cameras caught a tantrum from a leading figure; he blatantly spat twice, and he is supposed to be a leading role model. I am unaware of this problem in other sports which I enjoy watching.
I hope this type of behaviour can be penalised and discouraged. I wonder if I am alone here, as I have never read anything in The Herald on the subject?

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
