YOUR report that the America’s NBC Network recently broadcast from Scotland a live segment of its Today Show, with a Scottish co-host, and featuring deep-fried Mars Bars, whisky cocktails, and the Highland fling (“US morning news... live from Edinburgh”, The Herald, March 15).
With the profile of Scotland rising in today’s world, whatever eventually happens with Brexit and a second independence referendum, is this frivolous Brigadoonery really the sort of image we want to present to other nations?

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
