It was distressing to read about the abuse being hurled at our party leaders (Topic of the week: the scourge of cyberbullying, Letters, March 19). I admire all three women leaders for the jobs that they do – Nicola Sturgeon for being first minister, Kezia Dugdale for leading a bit of a wreck of a party and Ruth Davidson for leading a party with principles so agin Scottish traditional qualities. None of these jobs is easy and they should be praised for doing them.

Describing Jilly Cooper, 80, as "an erotic novelist" surely gives hope to all elderly readers who wish to be considered sensual and seductive (Faces of the week, March 19). Sadly, the meaning you may have meant to portray was "a writer of erotic novels".
