I DO not think that Glasgow Airport properly serves its function as a transport node for people in the southwest of Scotland.

A few examples suffice. Why are there no cash machines for arriving passengers provided by high street banks, instead offering only the uncompetitive Travelex a monopoly? Why should people who drop passengers with luggage off at the terminal even for a short time be forced to pay for this?

The airport passenger duty and other charges mean that Glasgow's passengers are paying one of the highest prices worldwide for airport usage, but are getting a second-rate facility geared towards commercial, not passenger, considerations. This is an embarrassment which ought not to be allowed to continue.
