ST MIRREN have signed striker John Sutton from St Johnstone on a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old scored only once in 25 appearances for Saints last season and returns for a second spell at the Buddies.
Sutton struck nine times in Paisley between 2005 and 2007 and joins the club shortly after the arrivals of defender Gary MacKenzie and goalkeeper Scott Gallacher were announced.

The experienced centre-forward has scored 87 Premiership goals in 273 appearances for St Johnstone, St Mirren, Hearts and Motherwell, but this will be his first Championship campaign.
He has also had spells in Australia's A-League, with Central Coast Mariners, and in his home country of England for Wycombe Wanderers, Millwall and Swindon Town.
Sutton has penned a deal at St Mirren Park until 2018 and told the club's official website: "I’m really looking forward to it. A lot of people have said when I’ve been walking down the street or in some shops maybe, is there a chance of me coming back?
"And I’ve said I’ve always felt welcome here so it’s a great feeling to be back here and signed up and ready to go.
“I met Alex (Rae) probably a month or so ago and was really impressed by what he had to say. Certainly the squad of players he is getting in now, hopefully we can have a good season.
"It pretty much sold the move to me and it was just a case of waiting for everything to get sorted out and finalised, I’ve been looking forward to this for a little while now.
“(Alex Rae) was a big influence. I wasn’t sure what to expect obviously, I love the club and had a brilliant time here in my first spell but it needs more than that to come back here and for us to do well and me to enjoy it.
"I think Alex convinced me that we can be successful here and hopefully I can play a part in that.
"I think you’ve got to be careful when you’re setting targets, you’re always looking to the next game and wanting to win the next game, on that basis you’re wanting to win the league whatever league you are in.
"I think everyone knows it is going to be a tough league but I think we have got a squad of players certainly to compete and we’ll see where that takes us."
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
