Craig Gordon
A quite superb save denied Graeme Shinnie a goal, diving full stretch to keep the score at 1-1, which was his big say in the cup final win.
His kicking game went from great to ‘what are you doing’ but he kept play going and was comfortable under the high ball and then, right at the death, made no mistake with Aberdeen's last chance. 7
Mikael Lustig
Could not get forward because he couldn’t take his eye of Niall McGinn but then really came into the game when the Aberdeen winger was taken off. Almost scored and spent the last 20 minutes attacking to great effect. 7
Dedryck Boyata
Was more than a bit ruffled under the high ball and at set-pieces in the first-half but settled down a bit. Was still not at his best but got the job done. Should have scored with a diving header on 70 minutes. 7
Jozo Simunovic
Great coming out of defence and was the pick of Celtic's defenders when Aberdeen got forward. The big guy can pick a pass as well and got better and more influential as the game went on. 7
Kieran Tierney
What a sad way for him to end a wonderful season. The teenager had been comfortable on the ball and his passing was causing some problems until Jayden Stockley’s stray elbow finished him on 25 minutes. 5
Scott Brown
Lost his cool for a bit when Tierney went off and didn't have it all his own way against Kenny McLean for spells; however, once the captain found his rhythm he started to boss things. He did commit many, many fouls. 8
Stuart Armstrong
What a strike a minute or so after Aberdeen’s goal, with his left foot straight into bottom corner. He ridiculed Shane Logan in a move which almost brought him a second and was as strong at the end as he was at the start. What a season he had. 8
Patrick Roberts
Endured a frustrating first-half in which even he couldn’t find space on that huge pitch. Got a lot more into after the break, a nice turn and shot was close and then hit the post after a wonderful solo effort. Then was unplayable. 7.5
Callum McGregor
His run and pass led to Armstrong’s goal and he was doing really well in the No10 position until Tierney’s injury meant he had to go to left-back. A mistake almost cost a goal but acquitted himself really well. 6
Scott Sinclair
It actually wasn't particularly the player of the year's day. He missed three good chances but what has to be said for the Englishman is he always looked for the ball and was constantly involved. A brilliant pass almost got Griffiths a goal.7
Leigh Griffiths
Lost Hayes for the first goal but went on too have a game in which he really deserved a goal. Joe Lewis was his nemesis more than once but his all-round play was superb. He put in some shift. 7

Tom Rogic
What can you say? He had good and bad moments until he scored one of the the great Scottish Cup Final goals. He will go down in Celtic history. 8
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
