CELTIC defender Kieran Tierney has been named Ladbrokes Premiership player of the month for October.

The Scotland internationalist helped the Hoops reach the Betfred Cup final last month as well as helping them to wins over Dundee and Aberdeen and a draw against Kilmarnock to continue the Bhoys' record-breaking unbeaten run.

Tierney scored and provided an assist during the top of the table clash against the Dons on 25 October and has played every minute of his side's last 11 games.

The 20-year-old also achieved another landmark when he captained the national team for the first time in the friendly defeat to the Netherlands at Pittodrie earlier in November.
