CROATIAN international Borna Barisic insisted he is ready to give his heart to Rangers after he became the club’s eleventh signing of the summer.

The 25-year-old full-back has agreed a four-year deal after his former club NK Osijek accepted a bid of around £2m for the player who so impressed Steven Gerrard when the two teams met in the last round of the Europa League qualifiers.

Barasic, who trained with his new team-mates yesterday, has arrived with a good pedigree as he came close to making the squad for eventual World Cup finalists Croatia but was cut from the original 32-man squad for Russia.

With Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty still on Gerrard’s radar, this has proven to be a busier window than any Rangers supporter could have predicted and they were impressed with their club’s latest acquisition, stand-out for NK Osijek over the two recent games.

“I think the most important thing is I give 100 per-cent in every game,” said Barisic. “I see that the fans of Rangers will recognise that, and I am very happy because of that.

“I will give my heart at Ibrox and every other stadium for Rangers, and I think that this is the most important thing for me.”
