GARY MCALLISTER is confident Rangers will soon see the best of summer signing Eros Grezda after a mixed start to the campaign.

The winger was one of 15 players that McAllister and boss Steven Gerrard brought to Ibrox during the close season as he completed a £2million switch from Osijek.

Grezda has made just four appearances for the Light Blues so far, however, and has yet to earn a starting spot in Gerrard’s forward line.

But Ibrox assistant McAllister believes the Albanian is now fit and ready to showcase his talents and make an impact for Rangers this term.

He said: “Eros is a player who arrived from Osijek, we had watched him quite a bit. He’s an exciting player who can make things happen in the final third, which is exactly what we’re looking for, and I’ve definitely seen a little upturn in his performance around the place here.

“There is a confidence about him, which has grown from the fact he’s been made very welcome. He’s getting much, much closer to the starting line-up.

“Fitness is not an issue now, he’s up at full speed. We can’t use that as an excuse. He’s fully fit.

“That was very apparent when we were watching clips of Eros. There was nobody in the stands!

“All of a sudden he’s come to a club where the demands are to win every game and play well and there are 55,000 wanting to be entertained. It’s different, it’s a big game for a lot of the guys and especially the attacking players.”
