Peter Leven is "committed" to Aberdeen and sees his future at Pittodrie under Jimmy Thelin next season.

Leven, 40, has impressed since taking the managerial reins on an interim basis last month. And that has prompted interest from English League One outfit, Barnsley, who sacked boss Neil Collins on Monday.

Barnsley could earn a much-coveted play-off spot if they can beat Northampton in the early kick-off on Saturday, which would put them in a prime position to earn promotion to the Championship.

Despite leading the north-east side to the verge of the Scottish Cup final, narrowly missing out in a penalty shootout defeat to Celtic last Sunday, Leven was quick to dismiss any speculation about leaving Aberdeen any time soon.

He also emphasised his satisfaction with being a part of incoming manager, Thelin's, forthcoming plans.

"I am committed here, I have loved it here and I am happy to be part of it for next season," the Dons caretaker said.

"I’m doing okay, there is obviously room for improvement and I will always work on that but it is a great club and hopefully the next five games can go well."

In a boost ahead of the final five league matches, Leven confirmed there was a full bill of health, and that star man Bojan Miovski will be available for the season run-in after limping off during the Scottish Cup semi-final clash against Celtic last weekend.

He revealed: "Everybody is fit and healthy, so no problems there."

On Miovski's enforced withdrawal in extra-time, Leven added: "It was just cramp, the same as Connor (Barron), Nicky (Devlin) as well. A few went down with cramp as we are into our fiftieth-odd game this season. So, it was just fatigue."

Aberdeen have suffered a disappointing league campaign, finishing inside the Scottish Premiership bottom-six for the second time in three years. A far cry from their European aspirations.

Yet, Leven has managed to steady the ship since Neil Warnock's sudden departure seven weeks ago.

He has helped the Reds pick up eight points from their last four domestic matches and now wants his Aberdeen squad to build on that momentum by finishing the season on a high.

"We have got to build on the momentum," the former Kilmarnock assistant declared.

"We are on a decent run. Obviously try to take the positives from Saturday, scoring three goals against Celtic. We want to finish as high as possible, and that is seventh, so I have set a challenge down for them."
