Ryan Jack is free to play for Rangers against Hearts at Ibrox tomorrow after winning an appeal against the red card he was shown in the 3-2 defeat to Hibs last Saturday.

The former Aberdeen captain was sent off for violent conduct by referee John Beaton in the first half of the Ladbrokes Premiership game at the weekend.

Television replays showed the 25-year-old defensive midfielder had moved his head towards Hibs striker Anthony Stokes during a melee in the middle of the park.

However, Beaton’s decision caused an outcry among the Rangers supporters, who were outraged that Stokes escaped the same punishment from the match official for an identical offence, inside Ibrox.

Jack, who was set to miss the league meetings with Hearts and Ross County in Dingwall on Sunday week, appealed against the decision and has had the red card rescinded.

His case was heard by an independent panel at Hampden yesterday and Beaton’s decision was overturned.

Caixinha, whose side was drawing the game against Neil Lennon’s side 1-1 when Jack was sent off, confirmed after the game that the club would not accept the decision.

He told Rangers TV: “We are going to appeal it, and we will show the images.

“I invite the referee to watch it, and to be honest, normally when someone commits a mistake, at least to my principles, I would recognise it.

“I’m not that type of guy that speaks about the referee and I always take my responsibilities.

“But I think that everyone involved in the game needs to take their own responsibilities.

“The first time I checked the website to see who was refereeing the game and I saw it and I said: ‘Okay, let’s hope things go in the right direction’.

“It was also the first time that I went to see some images after the match and I invited the referee to do the same so I could tell him.

“We are going to appeal and we are going to show the images in the same way I offered to show the referee.”

Caixinha also felt that Beaton had treated the Hibs management team differently to their Rangers counterparts during the fiery encounter at Ibrox.

He said: “I am not talking about influence, I am talking about having the same treatment.

“If the opponents are allowed to have two coaches in the technical area, we are also allowed to have it.

“If I listen to what I listened to today, with the other manager getting to the fourth official the way he did, that allows me to go the same way but I don’t have the same principles.”

Jack getting the all-clear to play means Caixinha, who has his captain Lee Wallace available after the left back recovered from a muscle strain, has a full squad to choose from for the Premiership game against Hearts at Ibrox tomorrow.

“So far so good,” said Caixinha. “We have a clean sheet on players and they should be fine not that Jack has won the appeal against his red card.”
