If there is such a thing as a home banker in the Premiership this afternoon, then punters will probably feel that it is at Easter Road, as Hamilton travel to take on Hibernian.

Fresh from their thrilling win at Ibrox last weekend and an opening day victory over Partick Thistle at home, the Hibees are flying.

But Lewis Stevenson is warning against complacency as Accies come calling, with the Lanarkshire side riding their own crest of a wave after defeating Dundee last Saturday.

“You obviously want to pick up as many points as possible in the first few games but a start is all it is,” Stevenson said.

“We haven’t done anything yet. It is only two games in and this Saturday coming against Hamilton is just as important, maybe more important than the game last week.

“We will do our best to perform even better than we did at Ibrox.”

Stevenson is among just three players left at the club who don’t need any reminding of how dangerous an opponent Hamilton can be, with memories of their 2014 playoff triumph at the ground still fresh.

Ali Crawford, the Hamilton playmaker, ranks that day as the best of his career, and he sees no reason why history can’t repeat itself on Accies’ first return to the venue since..

“We went into the game and started well, going 1-0 up,” Crawford recalled. “I was taken off with 20 minutes to go. It was hard to watch from the side but once we got the equaliser I had no doubt in my mind we would go on and do it. The scenes afterwards were special.

“It will be difficult, but we have been there before and beaten them so it is not impossible.

“A positive result there would stand us in good stead for the rest of the season.”

Hibs may hand a debut to 20-year-old winger Brandon Barker, after he joined the club on a season-long loan this week.
