Peter Hartley's second-half winner saw Motherwell come from behind to beat out-of-sorts Hamilton 2-1 at the SuperSeal Stadium.
Accies went ahead against the run of play in the first half through Giannis Skondras, but eventually fell to a fifth defeat on the bounce.
Andrew Rose capitalised superbly on a Skondras error at the other end to level scores at the break before Hartley tapped in to secure a comfortable victory for Stephen Robinson's side and send them fourth in the Ladbrokes Premiershiptable.
The visitors were immediately on the front foot and should have been ahead in the second minute as Richard Tait found himself free at the back post, only to shoot too close to Ryan Fulton, who pushed round the corner on his first league start for the club.
He was less than convincing under the high ball, however, and flapped at a Chris Cadden corner, but did enough to put off Carl McHugh whose header drifted wide with Hartley unable to divert the ball.
Louis Moult headed wide moments later before Hamilton took the lead against the run of play.
Dougie Imrie found space to lift a ball into the area and found Skondras at the far post, who rifled home into the far corner for an unlikely lead.
Rakish Bingham saw a curling effort tipped round the post as Well's pressure eased off after the goal, but they were soon deservedly level as Skondras undid his fine work at the other end of the pitch.
Rose chipped a ball into the channel but the defender misjudged horrible with a hooked clearance and could only divert the ball back to Rose, who produced a fine sliced finish with the outside of his foot into the far corner from the edge of the area.
Bingham forced Trevor Carson into another save in the 36th minute with a long-range effort, before Rose volleyed wide at the near post as Motherwell worked another good corner in an entertaining first period.
Manager Martin Canning highlighted the need to cut out individual mistakes before the game, and was left frustrated six minutes after the break as Motherwell took the lead.
Imrie conceded a free-kick out wide and Cadden lifted a simple ball inside the area, finding Hartley who tapped in unmarked from six yards out.
Botti Biaby could have had a penalty after he was brought down following a smart turn inside the area but Hamilton struggled to pose a significant threat as the visitors managed the game comfortably.
Daniel Redmond headed brilliantly off the line via the crossbar as McHugh powered another set-piece towards goal in the final 10 minutes before Ryan Bowman headed over with the goal at his mercy as Motherwell finished strongly and deserved their three points.
