A leading Italian newspaper believes that Andy Robertson's Glasgow roots 'explain everything' about his excellent performance in Liverpool's resounding Champions League semi-final win over Roma.
The left-back played a full 90 minutes as the Reds routed the Serie A outfit 5-2 in the first leg at Anfield to take a big step towards the final.
And Gazzetta dello Sport heaped praise on the former Hull City and Dundee United defender in their player ratings while giving him a rating of 6.5/10.

The newspaper was impressed by the energy and tenacity of the 24-year-old and pointed to his birthplace as an explanation.
"He represents the spirit of Anfield," said the paper.
"He does not possess technique of the highest level, but he runs like he's possessed and is never afraid.
"He dominated (Cengiz) Under, who was almost frightened by the energy of the Scotsman.
"He was born in Glasgow and this explains everything."
