Chloe Goadby will be the No 1 seed for the matchplay stages of the Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship after topping the strokeplay qualifying standings at Elie.
The St Regulus member, who was a runner-up in the national girls’ championship in 2015, signed off from her 36-hole campaign with a three-under 70 for a nine-under 137.
That left Goadby a stroke clear of the Troon duo of Hazel MacGarvie and the defending champion, Connie Jaffrey.
With 32 players progressing to the knock-out phase, Goadby was well on course to progress after an opening 67 and her neatly assembled, three-birdie 70 completed the task in hand.
Hannah McCook, who is aiming for a third major title of the season, comfortably qualified in share of fourth on 140 after a 72. She was joined on that mark by Broomieknowe teenager, Hannah Darling, who became the youngest ever winner of the Scottish Girls’ Championship last year at the age of just 13.
