JORDAN ROSSITER has backed Rangers to bounce back from their double Premiership disappointment and clinch a Europa League knockout berth on Thursday night.
Steven Gerrard’s side head to Rapid Vienna knowing that a win would see them progress from a Group G section that also includes Villarreal and Spartak Moscow.
But the Gers will make the trip on the back of two huge domestic blows after losing to Aberdeen and drawing with Dundee in recent days.
Rossiter came back into the side for the 1-1 draw at Dens Park but won’t be part of the squad that heads to Austria on Wednesday morning.
The midfielder was one of the few to impress for Gerrard’s side and he is confident his team-mates can get back to winning ways on the continent.
Rossiter said: “I thought we passed the ball well, but that final shot or final pass and the decision making wasn’t quite there today.
“The lads know that. We have spoken about it in the changing room and we need to put it right quickly.
“That is football, you can be the highest of the high one week and the lowest of the low another. We need to keep on chipping away and I am sure it will work out.
“I think the lads have got a massive Europa League game. If we go and win that, it is not forgotten about, but it is definitely a step in the right direction.
“We need to go over there and win so we need to shore up our attacking play. We have been good in Europe so I think they will come out on top.”
