ONLY two Scots have been selected in the British and Irish Lions squad for this summer's tour of New Zealand.

Glasgow Warriors pair Stuart Hogg and Tommy Seymour were the only Scottish representatives to be named in Warren Gatland's squad at the announcement on Wednesday.

Scotland won all three of their home games against Ireland, Wales and Italy at this year's Six Nations but were narrowly beaten in France and suffered a thrashing at the hands of England at Twickenham.

Vern Cotter's side finished in fourth place in the table and only behind Ireland and France on points difference.

Sam Warburton has been named captain for the second tour in a row after leading the Lions to a series win over Australia in 2013.

Warren Gatland's side will face the All Blacks in a three-match Test series in June and July after a series of warm-up games that begin on June 3.
